As the reception carried on into the evening, Nash became anxious for some space to be alone with Anna. Web and Tanya had already headed for their hotel. Nash wasn’t sure her nerves were ready to suggest they go to the hotel, but she did have another idea. She took Anna’s hand and pulled her toward the front door and down to the street.

“Where are we going?” Anna asked, still holding Nash’s hand.

“I was thinking it’d be nice to drive out to the beach.” Nash nodded toward a queue of waiting limos along the oak-lined sidewalk.

“Is this one of life’s spontaneous adventures presenting itself?”

“Maybe.” Nash grinned over her shoulder at Anna as she tugged her toward the white stretch limo.

After a brief negotiation with an attractive female driver, Nash and Anna climbed in the backseat. The large passenger compartment of the limo was outfitted with a mini bar along one side that included chilled white wine and glasses.

Nash watched the lights of Savannah pass by as they headed out through the marshes toward Tybee Island. The rich scent of the marshes was unmistakable even with the windows closed. Nash loved the brackish marsh smell.

The lights inside the car were dim, and Nash was lost in thought as she watched the tall grass of the marshlands sweep past the window when she felt Anna’s hand on her thigh. She’d forgotten to be nervous for a few minutes, but the warmth of Anna’s hand on her leg sent a jolt of electricity all the way to her chest.

“I had a really nice time tonight.” Anna was seated next to Nash and turned slightly to face her.

“Me, too.”

Anna leaned toward Nash and kissed her. The kiss was a soft caress that lingered and then turned into more. Anna cupped Nash’s cheek in her hand and teased with her tongue.

Nash had had enough to drink at the reception to calm her nerves a little, but they weren’t completely gone, and as Anna’s hand inched closer to her crotch, the butterfly nerves began to swarm in her stomach.

Anna hiked up her dress, pulling it high enough to expose most of her thighs and then she straddled Nash’s lap, never breaking their kiss. Nash put her hands on Anna’s silky thighs and tried not to move. She was afraid to break the spell.

“God, Nash, I could kiss you forever. You taste so good,” Anna whispered against her parted lips.

“I thought that the very first time we kissed.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“Nash, you’ve been really sweet to me.”

“What do you mean?”

“You haven’t rushed me. You haven’t rushed this.”

“I don’t want to rush anything with you.” Nash really meant it. Even the lightest touch from Anna was like a seduction. She wanted to savor every moment of this new courtship.

Anna kissed Nash’s neck and began to slowly unbutton her shirt. She trailed feather light kisses across Nash’s collarbone and down the center of her chest as she slid off her lap. Anna was on her knees on the carpeted floor between Nash’s legs.
